Simple Electric Guitar Instruction

If you are planning to become a lead guitarist, it is almost mandatory for you to know how to play an electric guitar. Beginners prefer to start their guitar lessons with acoustic guitar. One strong argument for choosing to begin with acoustic guitar over electric guitar is the relative lower price of the former. You might think that if you cannot get hold over the instrument, at least you would not have invested a bigger amount and you can easily dump that guitar of yours in a corner. I suggest you take another viewpoint and get started with electric guitar instruction.

The cost of the electric guitar has come down especially if you can buy one from Far East. It would cost you almost 30% cheaper. So you need not to worry about initial cost of the instrument and what if you are not able to learn how to play it. In fact, putting a bit more money into buying an electric guitar will work as a motivator. You would want to recover the cost and work harder to learn the instrument.

Electric guitar is much easier to play as it is not strung with heavy gauge strings. Heavy strings make it difficult for you to bend the strings and tire your fingers much faster. Once you begin playing it, you will find it much more fun. You can play your favorite song without having to really pull at the strings.

You will need to buy an amp along with an electric guitar so just make sure that you buy one with reverb on it. It will stimulate the echo of the sound as it reflects off the solid objects.

Once you decide to learn to play an electric guitar, look for a good tutorial. Any good tutorial should make things easy for you rather than complicated. With proper instructions, you will be able to understand the structure of an electric guitar, for example, the frets, amp, neck etc. So, pick up an electric guitar instruction manual and learn all about musical theory and strum along.
