A large number of drummers tend to be pleased with banging away the exact same outdated used rhythms, still a few go further than others to make a anthem their own....

Starting the list is a fairly recent percussionist, some may possibly dispute that he isn't in fact a punk percussionist and much more of a heavy metal one but I differ, it's right that he's fond to slow it down and do several death metal fills yet deep down he's genuinely a punk rocker-

Steve Jocz -AKA "Stevo"Born on July 23, 1981. Steve is generally identified for his drumming within the Canadian punk band Sum 41. An extremely fast and also awkward percussionist, he's able to flip the ambiance of a track instantly. Just one of the small number of punk drummers that has the capacity to slide in cheesy metal fills and get away with handling it. He is also well recognized for his toilet humour which is a clear-cut indication of punk maturity/immaturity- you pick!

Travis BarkerBorn on November 14, 1975. Maybe most known for his drumming in Blink 182 he's also drummed for many alternative bands. Travis comes in at no 4 not just because of his outstanding speed and timing but due to his expansive assortment of styles from Hip-hop to Punk, Pop to even Country.

Tre Cool (real name Frank Edwin Wright III)Born December 9, 1972. He is part of the original (pretty much) 3 piece which makes up Green Day. Leaning far more to the pop section of punk as a percussionist, Tre definitely helped Green Day achieve the international audience that boosted them to superstars. If he been just an extra, breakneck speed, same old drummer the band would have struggled to attract such a big market.

Josh FreeseBorn 25/12/1972. Josh is usually known for his drumming in The Vandals however is able to list many other bands and achievements. A breakneck velocity percussionist capable of slowing it all the way down and join forces with the top and has played for Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne and Guns N' Roses as if to prove the point. Josh's individual records can also show a slower, more refrained drumming technique showing that a fast pace isn't really the lot nevertheless for my part I favour the Vandals sound.

Erik Sandin-AKA "Smelly"Born July 29, 1966. Sandin is the enduring percussionist for NOFX. Sandin had been an original member of the band but departed two years later in 1983. In 1986 he was convinced to re-unite with the band but suffered from heroin addiction until 1992 when he checked into a rehab centre and has been clean ever since. Erik might not be the top of many people's list, for somebody that understands the quality of NOFX then there is absolutely no match.
