Racing By The Rest With BMW Hot Cars

BMW hot cars are quite capable cars right off the showroom floor, especially if you choose an M series car. There are those people, however, that will not be satisfied with even that level of performance. They are looking to build a hot BMW.
Fortunately there are sources that sell performance parts for these cars. Let's take the M5 for discussion. The BMW M5 comes standard with a 500 horsepower 5.0 liter V10 engine. If that is not enough power under your right foot there are bolt on accessories that can be purchased that will add more power. A cold air intake system matched with a custom free flow exhaust system is a good choice. The cold air intake created more horsepower because cold air is more dense and will fill each cylinder more completely. The free flow exhaust uses less of the engine's horsepower because there is less back pressure from the escaping gases.
In addition to these modifications you can purchase a set of high flow throttle bodies. These are ten slightly larger than stock throttle bodies that allow a better fuel flow into the engine. They also allow the engine to breathe better, producing more horsepower. There are also companies that will bore out your existing throttle bodies, which will get you the same results.
There are electronic engine management systems available that can do everything from slightly raising the factory rev limiter to adjusting fuel flow and engine timing. These are especially effective when paired up with the bored throttle bodies and exhaust systems. If all this still doesn't equal the performance that you desire, and you have about $26,000.00 burning a hole in your pocket, you can purchase an aftermarket built engine. These engines pack an additional 145 horsepower to almost 650! The engines are bored and the stroke is modified to a displacement of 5.8 liters. These engines have a very broad power band, achieving maximum torque from 3,000 rpm's all the way up to 8,100 rpm's.
The price includes the engine in long block form. This basically means that when the engine arrives it can be swapped in the vehicle as is with no modifications. These engines also come with a factory matching warranty. The rest of the M5 is built strong enough to handle the extra horsepower and torque. You still get all of the same comfort and drivability of the M5 with a lot more power.
There are also a multitude of chassis and suspension upgrade that can be added. The M5 is a capable handling car from the factory. With the addition of a set of shock tower braces, racing springs packages, camber/caster plates and an anti roll bar, you have a car that drives like a slot car.
After you have your ultimate M5 performance packages you need to dress up the looks a bit. The quickest way to do this is with a set of aftermarket wheels. Before running down to your local tire shop though, check with your dealer. Many dealers contract aftermarket wheel companies to sell their wheels as factory option wheels. The downside to going this route is that the dealer will charge significantly more for the wheels than your local tire store. The plus side however is that if you buy them at the dealer, the factory warranty won't be voided on the wheels or the tire pressure monitoring system that may be installed on your vehicle.
The best part about all these performance upgrades is that they are virtually undetectable from the outside of the car. Wouldn't it be fun to pull up next to the guy in the lane next to you in an identical looking but stock M5 and blowing his doors off when the light turns green. Now that's hot BMW cars.
