Open Question: Question about Craigslist?
Ok, I posted a car up on craigslist last night. I'm 16 years old, and I'm selling my current car. When I checked my messages today I saw this... Subject: Is it still available? "Hello, My name is smith .I want to know if you still have the vehicle posted on the craigslist for sale? I am interested in buying it. I ll be awaiting your response........... smith. " Now, for some reason it just seems a little weird. I might just be acting dumb, but I was wondering if it's been known for people to go on there and act like assholes and act like their gonna buy something but never do? I'm trying not to get my hopes about it because it just seems weird, but if this person is interested it could be huge for me. Please let me know if there are a lot of people who do that, or if it's just a coincidence that this guy just happens to have a very popular last name, that's often used to hide a real name. lol ya thanks to those who answer. I was also thinking that this person might be foreign, or hispanic, because of the way they talk. I just mean it seems like bad english :)   read more...

Open Question: Help in buying car: 2008 VW R32 or 2007 G35 Coupe?
Hi, I need help in buying my next car. I am going to purchase either car as used, but I cant make up my mind. I have 2 in mind that are located in my area. I am going to give you the description of each so you can help me in deciding. 1. 2008 Volkswagen R32 with 6K miles. It looks super clean and is being offered by a dealer as a certified pre-oned car for 26K (negotiable obviously). 2. 2007 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT with 14K miles on it, also being offered as a certified preened car. This one looks very new, but with some stress noticeable on the seats. This one goes for 28K (negotiable aswel). Both cars are super quick and sporty, probably the infiniti is a bit quicker 5.8 sec to 60 compared to 6.0 of the R32.(according to car and driver) My concern is in the depreciation of the car. The G35 is a very common car, and there are hundreds for sale, also there is the new G37, making the resale value of the G35 lower. Moreover, inifnity is always updating their model line , which makes the car decline in value. On the other hand, the R32 seems to hold value very good and there are only 5000 in the U.S ( 3 for sale in my area). The car has a certain "cult" status, making it cooler some how. Aslo, probably still 2 or 3 more years until the MkVI R32 makes it to the U.S. I would have to trade the car model 2007 vs 2008 and higher millage 14K vs 6K, since the G35 was a more expensive car when new I know it's lots of info, but i'm very confused on my next car purchase. Thanks, Daniel   read more...

Selling a used car is not what it used to be. There were times when your only choice was to find a dealer that would take your old car as a trade in on your new car or to sell to a friend. Today, when you have an older car or truck that you want to get rid of, you have more ways that you probably realize to get the word out there and to sell your vehicle. There are many ways people advertise used cars for sale, and one of those is bound to help you sell your car quickly.

There are some that put used cars for sale in their yards, and that can work rather well. However, it does depend on where you live. If you live on a road that has a lot of traffic each day, you have a better chance of the right person seeing your vehicle and taking an interest in buying it. On the other hand, if you live on a road that sees very little traffic, this is not one of the ways to sell used cars that will work for you. Unless you have someone on a high traffic road willing to allow your car to sit in their yard, you should think about other venues.

There are many great ways to reach people who would never drive by your home. The are many new websites online that are specifically build to advertise used cars for sale. You may have to pay a fee, but some will take one fee and allow your car to be on the site until it is sold. Others might have a low monthly fee that will be well worth the exposure you get this way. You can also advertise used cars for sale in local classifieds, and also your communities classifieds that are online. Not all towns have this, but many are now doing it.

Before you put your used cars for sale up on any site or out to buy, make sure you have washed it and topped off or changed fluids. Think about the true condition of the vehicle before you set a price. Though you want the most you can get out of it, honestly is always the best policy. Clean out the interior and get rid of any strange smells that might linger inside. When someone approaches you about your car, your honestly will pay off. They may not like that something is wrong, but they are more willing to buy if they know what they will have to repair.
