We see it all the time, authors who create great articles but aren’t seeing equally great click-thrus from their resource box links.

A few authors have asked us about this, and in nearly every instance upon reviewing the author’s articles we find a poorly setup call to action link.

First, you have to understand that it’s called a “call to action” link for a reason. You have to entice the reader to take action and click your link.

A few good examples of this would be something like:

Learn more about YOUR TOPIC at http://www.YourDomain.com

Get more tips and advice from YOUR NAME at http://www.YourDomain.com

Sign up for weekly/monthly tips by email from YOUR NAME at http://www.YourDomain.com

Writers love to tout their accomplishments, but a resource box full of your credits and awards will not get you click-thrus on your links.

99.9% of your article readers are interested in your topic, not you. Don’t waste their time with your biography.

Give them a single point to focus on–your link–and a compelling reason to click it–your call to action.
