The nursing profession requires a lot of responsibilities. This includes looking after patience and ensuring that they are well taken care of. This job also requires a lot of patience, hard work and long hours in the hospital.

A registered keeps communication and works with the families and relatives of patient. They also handle coordination between health care providers and the doctors. Nurses also take charge of the creation of nursing care plans of patients and their assessment. They take care of patients, administer their medication and constantly checks on their progress. Nurses ensure that patients are treated well and that they are educated when it comes to health care. They provide advice and support patients when it comes to the ordeals that they are facing. Nurses are very knowledgeable when it comes to the operation of machineries in the hospital and they are skilled in analyzing the test results of patients.

These are but just some of the duties of a registered nurse and they are still more which can well be added to the list. The responsibilities mentioned above reiterates the amount of accountability and the extent of taking ownership that a nurse needs to take on.  As we put it, the nurse plays a critical and very important role in the health care of patients.  With this, nurses should take their jobs seriously, especially that the patients take their advice.
