How to Be an Independent RN Contractor

Nurses, listen up. Seize this great opportunity that awaits you. Are you exhausted with your career but no advancement, not enough money in the bank, lack of respect for your job and very little compensation and benefits for working long hours day and night and years of commitment? There is a way for you to renew your interest in your career as a nurse. Be an independent RN contractor. As an independent RN contractor, you will have the chance to increase your choices as to when, where and how often you work, and at the same time increase your income and most importantly, gain professional freedom.
An Independent RN contractor contracts with a healthcare facility to provide services, and is paid by the hour. An independent contractor can contract his or her nursing services directly with a healthcare facility or with an individual patient and still continue his or her practice. The contract is the same with those used by nursing agencies and travel agencies of outlining the services that are provided, the responsibilities of the nurse as well as the healthcare facility, and how long the services should be provided.
RN contractors practice all the aspects of the Healthcare facility which are the following: Home health, Nursing Home, Hospital, Rehab Centers, doctors offices, and Nurse Consulting. Advance degrees are not required unless your company or business will include diagnosis and treatment of medical problems. Nurses are not prohibited to start up their business as Independent RN Contractors. An agreement is made between you and the institution. As an Independent RN Contractor, you will be able to negotiate your compensation, the number of hours worked and the length of time your services are required.
