This article provides some instances where a simple thank you card will go a long way to keep your customers....

Every successful business started from nothing. But as customers come and business grows, the once small and sleepy store flourishes into something worth stopping by. This is the goal of most small and startup businesses−to grow their business. Most of them believe that the more customers there are, the more money they make. This can actually be achieved through a good marketing campaign. If done right, a campaign can generate good customer base and repeat sales from current customers. But how can your marketing campaign generate big results?

Great marketing actually starts with your customers. You need to understand what your customers want and show them you value them. Veteran business owners will tell you that it is cost effective to keep old customers rather than gain new customers. So, it would be to your best advantage to work on keeping your current customers now before they jump ship.

So, how do you keep your current customers? Simple. Say thank you. When was the last time you said thank you to someone? Can you still remember the last time you received a thank you? Though a simple gesture, saying thank you or showing gratitude to something received, given, and done to you means a lot, especially in business. Whether someone buys from your store or simply passed by to window shop, showing gratitude to them would go a long way. Who knows they might come back and this time buy from you for the simple reason that they like you.

To really keep your existing customers, consider a few minutes or day with them each month. A simple courtesy call thanking your customers would be enough to please them and let them think that you took the time to check in with them. But if you can’t make a call every month, you can always consider sending thank you cards to your customers. There are several instances where a simple thank you will go a long way to keep your customers.

FIRST, after a purchase. Although you have already said your gratitude to your customers after the sale, you can still consider sending them a thank you card to show them how deeply appreciated they are. Your card can also be used to promote your other products or services that they can be interested in.

SECOND, when they recommend you to others. People who are satisfied of your service are likely to refer you to their friends or relatives. You should extend them your gratitude as they help bring in customers to you. Neglecting their effort would discourage them from referring you to others, which in turn can result in a huge loss for you.

THIRD, when they call regarding a product or service concern. When customers call for a concern, you shouldn’t look at it as a complaint. Instead, use it as an opportunity to improve your product or service. Be thankful to your customers for their remark because if not for them you wouldn’t have noticed whatever flaw there is in your product.

FOURTH, a loyal customer. As said earlier, it is more cost effective to keep existing customers than gain new ones all the time. Current customer, after all, account for 80% of your sales. It is, thus, critical to send appreciation through your own personalized thank you card printing to long term customers.

Your simple thank you can be a very powerful sales tool that will generate big results for your business. So don’t keep it. Show gratitude when it is due.
