Selling Really Is Easy With the Right Formula

Even if it's not a four letter word, the idea of selling seems to drudge up that four letter feeling. You want to jump in, perhaps you already have jumped in, but those feelings of dread and actual failure still plague a large majority of internet marketers. Yet, without selling how are you to accomplish your goals? No matter what you choose to promote, selling is involved.
Selling the Wrong Way
I'm sure you can think of many ways you've seen advertising done that just strikes the wrong chord for you. From print to electronic, poor selling has the expected results... no sales. Compounding the problem, you may not even be aware that your method of selling is not effective. Let me give you a real world example and see if you agree.
Recently a good friend of mine told me of their experience selling their house. Surprisingly, more than 99% of the agents bringing potential buyers did little or no selling during the walk through. I was told that the individuals and families who walked through the door turned to their agent for direction, and received nothing in return. It appeared the agents themselves were clueless on how to show a property properly, yet they call themselves professionals.
The lesson here is know what it is you are selling ahead of time. For those of us using the internet as our selling platform, gaining a full understanding of what the product is before hand is going to make a world of difference when it comes to conversions. If you cannot explain it, you cannot sell it. It's that simple.
Selling the Right Way
Sticking with the real world scenario above, here's what happened next. Seeing the buyer's confusion and need, the homeowner stepped up to the plate and asked the "professional" if they would like help. The agents were more than willing, they seemed relieved. The homeowner then proceeded to do the showing, selling, and closing for the agent. You might say it's only logical, but traditionally the homeowner is asked to either not be home or not speak during an agent's walk through. Apparently, like the internet, the real world is changing, too.
Ask yourself if you are prepared to do the selling yourself? Yes, that compensation plan can look mighty attractive, and you yearn to fill your downline and succeed. But what happens when you "open your mouth." Do you close sales? Do you leave most of your potential, interested individuals with unanswered questions, and thus lose the conversion?
You are not alone, and there is a solution. This selling solution is so simple, you'll wonder why you never thought of it before.
Selling Means Closing the Sale
Like our friend above, this person was fully aware of their families "product." Having done their due diligence in setting the stage to its best advantage, the homeowner proceeded to give those looking exactly what they were wanting. In this case, slowly guided tours, pointing out particular changes and options, and explaining details unseen that added immense value.
Within 24 hours, multiple offers arrived. Within days, after pouring over their options, the winner was chosen. The deal was done. Her selling had done the trick. And, most importantly keep in mind, the person who did the selling was not a professional. She just knows her "product."
Without a doubt, these "professional agents" were delighted to have someone do their work for them. Now, transition this strategy to your online selling and imagine the results!
Let Someone Do Your Selling For You
The bottom line is simple. If you are not any good at selling, yet you wish to make a living online, then you are going to need a professional to do your selling for you. That is not to imply that you need a huge marketing firm, and tons of cash. Nor does it suggest you don't need to help yourself. Instead, also look for, and look to, the individual who is successfully selling day in and day out not only for themselves but their downline.
Your upline is the most critical piece of the puzzle. All too often affiliates sign up randomly under whoever's email arrives first in their inbox. Too often that comes directly from a person too successful to even give you the time of day.
But another breed of professional sellers does exist. Quietly among you are individuals who understand that if you are not successful, they will not succeed either. They assist.
Summing things up:
o Do know your product (not just the money part)
o Do be prepared (because you will need to talk or write intelligently even with the best of help)
o Do look for, and sign up with, a professional willing and able to help you do your selling for you.
