Picturing The Memory In Detail

Shut your eyes and try to visualize that moment. Imagine yourself on top of that very hill. What does the view look like? How does the wind feel on your face?

This may take you a couple minutes or more, depending on how used you are to visualization. Recreate the scene in your head.

When your feelings are at their peak, relate or anchor that emotion with a gesture or an image. Perhaps you could clasp your hands together or you can twiddle your thumbs. Testing Your Anchor

Now that you have effectively related or acnhored your emotions to a particular gesture (or image), check to see if it works.

Once you are composed, try to do the gesture you anchored a particular feeling with, and see if any feelings come forth. If you're seeing no changes, try to repeat the visualization process or change your anchor. This is what NLP anchoring techniques are all about.
