THE FINAL CRUSADE

Many a times, you might have faced problems while transferring files to your friends by email or to another storage medium just because they are ridiculously large. Also, sometimes you might have got bored of uploading each every single file to a mail and thought it would be a lot better if you could just bunch them together! Many a times, you might have faced problems while transferring files to your friends by email or to another storage medium just because they are ridiculously large. Also, sometimes you might have got bored of uploading each every single file to a mail and thought it would be a lot better if you could just bunch them together! Well, thankfully there is a program to do just that.
When you group together a number of files and compress them (you can say tie them tightly) it’s called zipping the files. On other hand, when a zipped file is uncompressed (untied) so as to get each every single file separately, it’s called as unzipping. Now since when you compress (tie the files tightly) they take up less space than they were previously. On other hand, when you uncompress (untie) them, they take up more space than the compressed file.
There are various programs that allow us to compress or uncompress files and send or transfer them easily over emails or on another storage medium. E.g. ‘Winzip’ is a popular program that allows us to do just the above mentioned things quite easily. It supports all of the Windows versions.

How to Unzip Files:

All versions of Windows from XP and above allow you to uncompress or unzip that file. Just double click on that file and copy/cut the content in it into another folder. Alternatively, you can also right click on it and select ‘Uncompress’ the file and it will create a normal uncompressed folder by the same name. You can now safely delete your zipped or compressed file if you want. But if that doesn't work you can download winrar and that will automatically extract the files when you download them.
