Open Question: What happened to Dr Foreman? (House the tv show)?
What happened to Dr foreman after he had a brain biopsey after searching the apartment of the patient he was treating with the same disease? They showed him afterward, and he could talk, but he couldn't move his toes and he didn't know his right from his left. Did something go wrong with the biopsey? Is he ok now? How?   read more...

Open Question: Moving to Twin Cities, MN area - Where do I begin!?
Planning a move to the Twin Cities area with a friend of mine - I've been searching the past week online through Craigslist for apartments and it looks like we're gonna have to spend about $500 or more a piece/month on rent and utilities...I'm currently living in Iowa and can hardly afford $350 + utilities on my own (and I'm working more than one job) Do you think we'll be able to afford the price of living out there with the way most standard jobs pay in that area? Good/Bad neighborhoods? Apartments? Transportation? ANYTHING Pretty much any advice for me about trying to move to that area would be helpful...Thanks! :)   read more...

Living close to where you work can be a real bargain, especially now with the cost of gas rising. Driving a long distance to work is not feasible when you are trying to save money anymore. By getting an apartment that is closer to your workplace and a roommate, you will be saving yourself a lot of money. Aside from having a roommate to share the rent, he or she can also help to pay the utility bills and groceries.

When you have an apartment and you work all day, once you come home you may not feel like cooking, and opt to grab something from a fast food place. This can become a costly habit when it is done several times a week. But, when you have a roommate you can alternate who does the cooking, so that you take turns. Eating at home rather than out all the time, can save a lot of money and it is more fun to eat with someone than it is eating alone. Aside from saving you money by eating at home, it can be a healthier venture as well.

With gas prices reaching an all-time high this summer, saving money on an apartment but driving further is not as feasible as it once was. When you live closer to your work you can save a lot of money on gas and wear and tear on your vehicle. And if you happen to have a roommate who is also a co-worker then you have the added benefit of carpooling to work when your schedules match up. By alternating who does the driving each week, you can avoid any arguments over who does the driving.

Another added perk of having a roommate when you both work, is that the chores are shared in much the same way as the bills. It is much easier to maintain the upkeep of the apartment when you work together or split the chores. And you may be fortunate enough to have a roommate who enjoys the chores that you detest doing.  Chores can be worked out much like the cooking schedule so that you do not feel overwhelmed after a long day at work.

Having a roommate when you work makes living in an apartment much easier. Whether it is a co-worker or a friend you can share in all the aspects of apartment living. Sharing the bills and rent are just a part of what roommates can do for one another. Having someone to cook with and eat your meals with is a huge perk and a lot healthier for you when the alternative is eating out all the time. Chores are also easier to keep up with when you do not have to do them all by yourself.
