
How To Get Rid of Pimples
There are no real secrets for how to get rid of pimples overnight, but there are some basic steps that can be taken to lessen the severity of outbreaks and even prevent some outbreaks all together.
Pimples, almost everybody deals with them at one point or another. Most of us suffer worst from outbreaks during our teenage years and then thankfully only have the occasional blemish appear as adults--though they always seem to pop up at the most inconvenient times; like the night before a major business meeting or the day of some big social event. There are no real secrets for how to get rid of pimples overnight, but there are some basic steps that can be taken to lessen the severity of outbreaks and even prevent some outbreaks all together.
First, it's important to realize that acne is caused by your skin reacting to the hormones in your body. It is not caused by dirt or oily skin. In fact, people with oily skin tend to wash more frequently than people with dry skin do. This is important to know because there's a tendency among people suffering an outbreak to try to wash their acne away, and what this can actually do is damage or irritate the skin and cause the outbreak to become worse.
Be smart about what you put on your body. Keep in mind that damaged or irritated skin is more prone to react abnormally to your natural hormones and create an outbreak, so be cautious about what sorts of chemicals you expose your skin to with hair products, cosmetics and creams and lotions. Anything that may dry or damage your skin should be used with great care.
Also, never pop your pimples because again you can damage the already irritated skin, plus if some of the material your skin is reacting to remains it can be moved by the pressure of you squeezing your skin and cause additional acne. Not to mention that popping pimples can lead to tiny scars on your skin.
Things you can do to is keep your skin as healthy as possible. A well balanced diet and regular exercise are the best preventative measures you can take. A good diet will help ensure you have the necessary vitamins and nutrients for healthy skin, and regular exercise will help keep the elasticity of your skin in good shape.
Chocolate and fried foods do not cause outbreaks, that is a myth, however like anything else they should be consumed in moderation within a well balanced diet.
Keep your skin clean, especially the areas you most often suffer outbreaks in. You might be surprised to find that people can suffer outbreaks in very different places. Some suffer with facial outbreaks, others get them on their scalp and neck, some suffer from back pimples, body pimples and I've even heard of a pimple in ear.
Wherever you most often have outbreaks should be kept clean because even though dirt doesn't cause acne breakouts, bacteria can damage the skin in those high-risk areas and cause it to become more prone to an outbreak.
At the same time take care not to over wash these areas or use harmful cleansers. This can also dry out or damage the skin and lead to more frequent outbreaks.
Once a pimple appears there are few options for treating it beyond a good acne cream. Some people claim that placing toothpaste on the pimple and letting it dry helps. I've tried this myself and it didn't seem to do anything at all for me, but maybe it only works for some people and not everyone so you could try that.
