Floaters are Dangerous, says scientists 

A recent study suggests that floaters in the eyes can be dangerous if left untreated. Eye floaters are tiny particles that float inside the vitreous humor located inside the eye.
For most sufferers eye floaters are only an annoyance. For others, eye floaters are much more. Floaters can cause a medical condition known as Retinal Detachment which can lead to vision loss if not treated promptly.
This happens because the floaters can pull the retina causing a retinal detachment. Although this is very rare, it can happen if floaters in the eyes are left untreated for a long time. It is very important to have your eyes checked regularly as to avoid any problems associated with eye floaters.
A good example is the usual appearance of flashes of light accompanied by floaters. They can be a sure indicator of a more serious eye condition.
