If you suffer from oversweaty armpits, choosing clothes is a challenge since you need to stick with light colored materials. The unpleasant smell only makes this condition harder to bear. No need to feel down because this article will help you put a stop to excessive underarm sweating.

The most important thing to do first is to determine the causes underlying this problem. For some, this inordinate sweating is due to their genetic makeup, or hyperhidrosis.

Presently, there are several different methods which will decrease or stop excessive underarm sweating. There are prescription antiperspirants that block the pores, preventing sweat from making it to the surface of the skin. These products will generally contain these ingredients: aluminum chloride, glutaraldehype, and formalin.

Botox injections are another option. During this treatment, botulinum toxin is injected into the armpits to arrest the liberation of acetycholine. Iontophoresis is the third treatment option and here the affected area is submerged in tap water as mild electric shocks are introduced. A word of caution is appropriate in that iontophoresis is not advised for people who are epileptics, are heart patients, or are pregnant.

Should you seek help from your doctor about how to stop excessive underarm sweating, it is possible that surgery would be suggested. The first surgical procedure is termed "clipping," during which a titanium clip is inserted across the sympathetic nerves in order to block the nerve signals going to the sweat glands. Another is cutting, which severs the nerves.
