Some Leading Physical Causes of Infertility

There are many possible causes of infertility in women, which may include damage to the fallopian tubes. STD's like chlamydia is the leading cause of fallopian tube damage. Inflammation of the fallopian tubes may well go undetected for some time or it may well cause severe pain and or fever.

Another leading cause of infertility is endometriosis. This condition happens when tissue from the uterus grows on the outside of the uterus. This condition interferes with the ovaries ability to function properly, which in turncan cause both inflammation and scarring of the fallopian tubes -making it challenging to become pregnant.

Here's another possible cause for difficulty in pregnancy. Women who are in their mid to late thirty's and fourtie's who are trying to get pregnant could develop uterine fibroids. Fibroids are benign tumors which unfortunately sit along the wall of the uterus making it difficult for fertilized eggs to become implanted. There's also a possibility that women within this age group might go through early menopause. Smoking is one of the causes for early menopause. In any case, the absence of a period makes fertility impossible, as there are no eggs being transported into the fallopian tubes for fertilization to take place.Additionally, some causes of infertility could take place after abdominal or pelvic surgery. This form of infertility is called pelvic adhesion. This is a long band of scar tissue that binds around internal organs, making pregnancy essentially impossible.

Fortunately, some of the best ways for a woman to increase her chances of getting pregnant now or in the future is to eliminate any unhealthy habits and to focus on a healthful life style. Drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes and taking drugs are not nutritious and may cause complications before, during or after pregnancy. These poor habits could increase miscarriages, infertility and even cause babies to be born with low birth weight. Staying in shape can increase the possibility of pregnancy in many women. Women who are overweight increase the risk of diabetes during pregnancy so staying at a healthy body weight before and during pregnancy will increase the possibility of a successful childbirth.

Lastly, let's consider the emotional-mental aspects of infertility. Some women who are trying to unsuccessfully get pregnant are understandably prone to depressive disorders. This situation unfortunately spirals, making pregnancy even more challenging. Therefore, it's far better to seek assistance, even if you don't need it, so you can rule out any negative influences in this area. By partnering with your physician and counselor simultaneously, your possibilities for a successful pregnancy and childbirth will improve.
