Do The Bed Bug Spray or Powders Do Any Good? Some Tips To Get Rid Of Bed Bugs

Do you want to kill those pesky insects that are making your life a living hell but can't afford a professional?

I know how you feel...I have been there and done that. I can't tell you how crummy my life was when the bed bugs were infesting my bed.

Have you looked into mixing your own powder or dust to kill the insects?

Bed bugs have a waxed shell and are vulnerable to getting dehydrated if they crawl through the wrong stuff.
They are also killed by the sharp edges of the powder that abrades their shells.

So what is this home made remedy? It is this:

1. Create your own powder out of Diatomaceous Earth. You can obtain the diatomaceous earth at a pet store because it is used in aquarium filters as well as kitty litter.

2. Another substance that works the same is Silicon Dioxide crystals. These powders are also found in some types of kitty littler.

With both of these powders, you may have to grind the powder to a fine dust in a blender. That will make it easier to spread around the room. Dust all the seams and crevices in your mattress on both sides.

Be sure to dust all the cracks and gaps in the bed frame as well. After dusting, you can enclose the mattress in a bed bug proof plastic cover. A handy tip is to use duct tape on all the zipper closures for a complete seal.

Follow up with a thorough washing of all the bed clothes in very hot water and dry on the hottest setting.
