Keep Your Cool With Outdoor Misting Fans

It is a known fact that outdoor misting fans have the ability to cool-down outside temperature by at least twenty degrees. The great news is that the warmer the temperature, the better these fans work.
As the name implies, this fan gets its cooling from a combination of an outdoor misting system with an attached fan. Perhaps you have visited a theme park and walked through one of their misting systems. No matter how warm it is, you immediately feel cooler. The science behind this cooling is flash evaporation, or simply thermal dynamics.
The amount of actual cooling that can take place on your patio depends on two things. The two factors are the external temperature and relative humidity. It is not unusual to experience 20 degree cooling of the surrounding environment, but in industrial settings, outdoor misting fans have actually shown a 55 degree drop in temperature in the dry heated air of a copper smelter.
Imagine the outside temperature being 100 degrees. Lets face it, hardly anyone wants to be outside in that type of weather. Visualize if you can just turn on a switch to activate a misting fan system with its high pressure pump unit and you are able to enjoy the outdoors. When most people opt to stay within the confines of their homes because of the hot temperature, you are the least affected playing, relaxing and having fun at your patio.
An additional benefit of these fans is that they repel insects, flies and pesky mosquitoes and sometimes even work better than bug zappers, citronella, and yard sprays. Those with gardens have no more excuse not to work in their gardens even in the hottest days. Simply position each fan in the direction you are working and the cool air is delivered your way. If dust or pollen are present, the water vapor will settle them down in just a few minutes.
Outdoor misting fans also work very well to keep your pets cool when they want to play. If you need to work in your garage or shop, just setup the misting fan in the right direction to cool the covered area of your house and you will immediately get cool air.
As a reminder, be sure that any outdoor misting fan is plugged into a GFI rated outlet just to be extra cautious. This safeguard is necessary because you are operating an appliance that uses water and electricity.
