Man people don't have a lot of time to cook. That's right, they live full lives. Between work and school and other activities they're lucky if they have time to stop at a fast food joint much less prepare quality meals at home. The issue isn't always cooking but rather planning nutritious menus. People who have trouble with this, however, must not be paying much attention. With the Internet, cooking shows, and food demonstrations daily at supermarkets, it's easier than ever to plan a whole week of meals. Here are a few good dinner ideas for delicious meals the whole family can enjoy.

Corn dogs are an all American tradition, usually served at state fairs and by street vendors. It's delicious and easy, even though not exactly healthy. Make a batter with some flour, corn meal, salt, sugar and baking powder mixed with milk, dip the hot dogs and then deep fry them until the batter is golden brown. Put the dog on a stick for an authentic feel.

In the old days dinner and supper were two different things, one a main meal and the other a lighter snack. As time went by this changed based on social class and schedule. People who performed manual labor continued with the tradition of dinner to keep up their energy. As times change and we move away from regular meals at home, dinner has become the anchor that keeps families together and signals the end of the out of the home portion of the day and the beginning of at home leisure time. The meaning of supper and dinner have merged. The late meal can be light especially for people who are weight conscious. Try a roast chicken salad.

Try crock pot cooking. Add the ingredients, set it on low in the morning, so by dinner time the food is ready to eat. The crock pot can handle the entire meal. Try pot roast and potatoes. Serve it with a fresh baked loaf of bread picked up on the way home from the local supermarket. Or you can ditch the bread to keep down the pounds.

Excellent home cooking isn't hard – try pork chops, or steaks on the grill. Search for the term dinner ideas on a search engine like Google. There are tons on line.
