T-Mobile announced the subsequent Google cell phone in its array: the myTouch 3G PDF VersionPrinter Friendly Version

T-Mobile announced today that it is releasing a next generation phone to the G1 Android based HTC handset....

T-Mobile announced at the moment that it is releasing a follow up to the G1 Android based HTC phone. The myTouch 3G with Google will be the service providers most modern flagship telephone and will go up for sale in early August. The rebranded HTC Magic is the most modern tool to offer Android in the United States.

It will likely be a touch screen cellular phone that will not have a physical keyboard like the G1 does. In the face of such brawny rivalry, the myTouch 3G wishes to fight against the control players in the phone industry presently. The myTouch 3G has a display comparable to the iPhone and includes lots of the similar features. It has a 480 x 320 touch display, 3G coverage where T-Mobile has it to offer, EDGE for global roaming, WiFi, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and virtual keyboard software. Pre-orders for the phone will start on July 8th for $199 for existing customers with a 2 year contract. It will come in black, white, or merlot.

The competition that T-Mobile and the myTouch 3G are coming up against is pretty fierce. If you look at ATT, it has the iPhone, and the 3G S just sold over a million devices in the opening weekend of its release. Even though it does not have a very innovative handset, Verizon Wireless, offers a vast network and fantastic CDMA coverage. It also has the BlackBerry Storm, and at the same time as it hasn’t been the most welcomed touch screen phone on the market, it is the original touch screen BlackBerry handset. Sprint, T-Mobile’s next closest competitor as far as subscriber statistics, just launched the Palm Pre.

Numerous gadget geeks have been truly looking forward to other carriers having Android based handsets. T-Mobile is a fine service provider, but their coverage leaves a lot to be preferred. A problem that I have with T-Mobile is its lack of 3G coverage. While Sprint, Verizon, and Att all offer 3G coverage in my township, T-Mobile barely has EDGE coverage exterior city limits. Unless you reside in a main city area with 3G coverage, this receiver is sort of limited in my view.

You can for all time check your T-Mobile coverage on the companys website before you commit to a 2 year contract and a handset that may or may not work at your house.
