Tennis Twist on Amazon PDF VersionPrinter Friendly Version

Practicing tennis with the tennis twist is the most economical way to improve your game. We'll show you if Amazon has the lowest price or not...you might be surprised...

Tennis Twist is definitely the best purchase when looking to purchase portable tennis ball machines.  This product is priced very affordably at a little over $200, making it the most affordable tennis ball machine around .   Besides being the cheapest tennis ball machine, the Tennis Twist is also easily picked up and battery operated, making it extremely transportable and it will easily go in the trunk or backseat of any station wagon.  And like other tennis ball machines, the Tennis Twist also serves tennis balls at a consistent rate giving you the repetition needed to make a practice session worthwhile.  Whether you need to work on your forehand or just don’t have someone to play with, this tennis ball machine can help to advance your game.  Because a tennis machine doesn’t mis-hit, you don’t have to worry about mis-hits while practicing.  You get to hit consistently with the same swing up to 28 times in a row to help form your muscles and increase your mental discipline.

How does the Tennis Twist Differ

When Tennis Tutor created the Tennis Twist, they were looking to create an affordable tennis machine that would still provide the essential features that would permit any skill level, basic to intermediate to advanced, to receive a quality and reliable experience.  The unique spiral design automatically feeds all 28 tennis balls.  After that the ball machine then lobs out a ball every 5 seconds providing you with enough time to take the shot, evaluate the shot, and bounce back in time for the next tennis ball.  To get the most out of the Tennis Twist, you need to position it in random spots depending on the type of shot you want.  Because the Tennis Twist doesn’t have any oscillation features, the only means of changing the shot is to change the position.  You’ll also want to place the Tennis Twist on the same side of the net because it only shoots about  15 feet or so.  However, if you want to practice the overhead slam you’ll have to put it on the opposite side of the net.

These are just a few examples of what makes the Tennis Twist different from other tennis ball machines.  To get a complete idea of how the Tennis Twist works and some additional benefits (and even some drawbacks) you’ll want to check out a Tennis Twist review.

Tennis Twist vs. Lobster Elite

Like I said before, the Tennis Twist is the best value for the money when considering tennis ball machines, but how does it compare to other, more expensive machines?  One popular brand of tennis ball machine is the Lobster Elite line.  Just considering the cheapest lobster tennis ball machine, you would spend $850 which is almost four times as much as the Tennis Twist.  So do you get 4 times the machine?  The Lobster Elite Freedom, which is the cheap tennis ball machine, has changeable speeds, a higher ball capacity, and a useful horizontal oscillation feature that will rotate the shots around the court.  The adjustable speed is nice because it allows you to hit the ball faster ;however, the key to a good practice is good form and faster doesn’t necessarily mean better.  As far as the hopper capacity goes, the 28 balls that the Tennis Twist shoots out is sufficient for a 2 minute rally and unless you are in great physical shape, 2 minutes is a very healthy workout.  And with the Lobster's rotation feature, it can be good practice running to each side of the court, but you can still do the same drill with the Tennis Twist with some creativity.  For an extra $630 you get some nice features, but not exactly necessary.

Another popular tennis ball machine is the official Tennis Tutor model.  This system retails around 950 dollars and is practically the same as the Lobster Elite Freedom when looking at features.  So when comparing the Tennis Twist against the Tennis Tutor ball machine, you save close to $700.  Don’t get me wrong, these more expensive tennis ball machines do have their uses.  If you are a serious competition player or a coach, many of these models will have valuable features, but if you want a cheap tennis ball machine to help you practice, there is no better value.
