The Frustration of Buying Plus Size Clothing

Not many people appreciate how difficult buying plus size clothing can be. Besides the normal problem of trying to find the time to go searching from one shop to the next, plus size people have a number of extra challenges to contend with.
Firstly, despite the large number of larger people, the selection of clothing is disappointingly small. It seems as if very few companies out there realize the potential of this market, and most only cater for the "typical model figure". The smaller selections mean having to visit more different stores in order to have a reasonable choice available. This requires more time, making it more difficult. This is a huge problem for those living in small towns, who have to visit the city for purchases.
To add to that, many salespeople do not seem to have any sympathy for larger people, and requests for larger sizes are often met with a "you should know better than to ask" attitude.
The worst, of course, is that until recently, virtually no manufacturers made any real effort to produce stylish plus size clothing for the average (income) person. For many years, larger people simply had to accept they "could not look good", and live with it.
Fortunately, thanks to the convenience of the internet, that has all seen a drastic, sudden change. Suddenly there are many online plus size stores, and due to the competition, the styling has improved dramatically. Suddenly there are no time limits, with facilities being online around the click. And of course, there is a huge selection available, allowing you to look your best, regardless of personal taste.
The greatest advantage, of course, is that you can browse different stores in a fraction of the time it would take you to do it physically, and you can do it from the comfort of your chair.
